helpmebuild

Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 1, 2026. This is a preview-stage product, and this policy reflects that. Plain language, no legalese theater.

What data do we collect?

When you sign in, we get your email address and name from Google or via email magic link. While you use helpmebuild, we store: every message you send and receive in your interviews, the AI-generated summaries (PROJECT.md sections, DECISIONS, tasks) at the end of each interview, and structured “memories” the AI extracts from completed interviews to make future sessions smarter.

What do we do with it?

We use it to make helpmebuild work for you. That's it. We do not sell your data, share it with marketers, run third-party advertising trackers on you, or use your interviews to train AI models.

Who has access to it?

To run the product, your interview content is sent to AI providers during processing — Anthropic (Claude) and OpenAI (when used). They process the content to respond to you, subject to their own data policies. If you use voice features, your audio recordings are sent to ElevenLabs for transcription, and assistant text you choose to play aloud is sent to ElevenLabs for speech synthesis. Google sees your authentication when you sign in. Beyond that, only the helpmebuild operator (one person) has access to the database, and only for debugging and product operations.

Where does my data live?

On a server in AWS US East (N. Virginia, us-east-1). The database is PostgreSQL on EC2 infrastructure operated by helpmebuild.

How long do you keep my data?

As long as you have an account. You can delete individual interviews, individual memories, or your entire account at any time. Once deleted, data is removed from the live database; backups may retain data for up to 30 days before being cycled out.

How do I delete my data?

Once the memory and account settings pages are live, you can delete sessions and memories yourself, including a “delete all” option. To request full account deletion right now, email support@klausway.com.

Do you use cookies?

Only what's needed for sign-in and session management. No tracking cookies, no advertising cookies, no third-party analytics cookies in this preview.

What about logs?

Standard server logs (which routes were accessed and when) are retained for operational debugging, typically 7–30 days. We try not to log interview contents, but unexpected errors may briefly include context for debugging.

Are there usage limits, and what happens if I hit them?

Yes. Per-user daily limits exist for cost control and abuse prevention: roughly 5 new interviews / day, 200 messages / day (with shorter-window limits of 10 / minute and 100 / hour), 10 bundle generations / day, and a hard daily spend cap of $5 worth of AI compute. Sign-in emails are limited to 3 / hour per email address. If you hit a limit you'll see a friendly message in the chat or sign-in page and can try again later. Email support@klausway.com if you have a legitimate need for higher limits.

Can my account be suspended?

Yes, in extreme abuse cases (e.g., automated cost-burning, repeated terms violations). Suspension blocks new interviews and messages but does not delete your data — you can still sign in, view what you've created, export your data, or delete your account. We will notify you by email and explain the reason if your account is suspended. There is no automated suspension; an operator reviews the situation manually.

This is preview-stage. What does that mean for my data?

It means: things may break, the product may change, and this policy is good-faith, not legally bulletproof. If we ever scale up, take payments, or significantly change data practices, we'll update this policy and tell users. If anything here matters legally to you, get a lawyer's advice before relying on this preview.
